The National Leader of the Niger Delta Peace Awareness Movement, Alhaji Awo Destiny Harmony, has issued a stern warning to the factional President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Atiku Abubakar Isah, demanding an immediate end to the spread of falsehoods and politically motivated smear campaigns against Mr. Seyi Tinubu.
Responding to a viral video in which Comrade Isah levied baseless allegations of kidnapping, torture, and the orchestration of violence during NANS-related activities, Alhaji Harmony dismissed the claims as entirely unfounded, malicious, and part of a broader agenda sponsored by failed political actors and anti-democratic forces.
“Seyi Tinubu is a highly respected and accomplished youth advocate who has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to nation-building and youth empowerment,” Alhaji Harmony stated. “It is both irresponsible and disgraceful for anyone—especially someone claiming to represent Nigerian students—to fabricate such damaging lies for political gain.”
He described the accusations as “a desperate, poorly scripted narrative designed to mislead the public and provoke unrest among students.” Alhaji Harmony challenged Comrade Isah to provide concrete evidence if any wrongdoing truly occurred. “Where are the medical reports? Where is the police report? Where is the legal petition? These wild claims are nothing more than politically motivated fiction.”
Alhaji Harmony warned against using misinformation to incite unrest in tertiary institutions, stressing that such actions amount to deliberate sabotage and will not be tolerated. “Your attempts to manipulate the student body for selfish and sponsored agendas will fail. The truth will always prevail, and you will be held accountable if you persist.”
He reiterated that Seyi Tinubu remains a beacon of youth excellence and integrity and urged the general public and student community to disregard the unfounded allegations.
Highlighting youth-friendly initiatives of the Bola Tinubu administration—including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and the recent release of over N100 billion to ten public universities—Alhaji Harmony questioned why a student leader would ignore such impactful developments in favor of playing politics.
“It is deeply disappointing that instead of championing student welfare, Comrade Isah has chosen to serve as a mouthpiece for anti-progress elements,” he concluded. “We are watching closely, and we will not hesitate to expose and resist every attempt to derail the peace and progress of Nigeria’s youth.”
