The Director-General of Integrity Group of Nigeria, Dr Oke Idawene, has commended the All Progressives Congress (APC) for what he described as strategic appointments to its national and Delta State campaign structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Idawene praised the appointment of former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, as Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council and Senator James Manager as Chairman of the Delta State APC Campaign Council.
He also commended the party leadership under Chief Solomon Areyinka, describing the appointments as putting square pegs in square holes.
The Integrity Group director-general further praised the Directorate of Support Groups, led by Chief Festus Ochonogor, alongside Rt. Hon. Peter Onwusanya and Rt. Hon. Monday Igbuya, describing the combination as a strategic move that would strengthen the party’s mobilisation efforts ahead of the elections.
Speaking during a media briefing tagged “APC All The Way,” Idawene expressed confidence that the APC would win the 2027 general elections, citing what he described as the emerging positive results of the economic reforms introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He acknowledged the economic challenges facing Nigerians but maintained that the administration’s policies had laid the foundation for sustainable growth and national prosperity.
“The country cannot afford to start afresh. The reforms of Mr President have started yielding results, and we are now moving towards prosperity. That is why Nigerians should re-elect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027,” he declared.
Idawene commended Tinubu for his commitment to economic restructuring, infrastructure development and efforts to tackle insecurity, urging Nigerians to sustain their support for the APC-led administration.
He also praised Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for his developmental strides under the MORE Agenda, particularly in road construction, workers’ welfare and grassroots development.
According to him, the governor’s commitment to infrastructure and improved welfare had continued to attract commendation from residents and political stakeholders.
He equally appreciated the First Lady of Delta State, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, for her humanitarian interventions and support for vulnerable residents.
Speaking on the activities of Integrity Group, also known as Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda Ambassadors, Idawene said the organisation was established to promote good governance, educate citizens on government policies and publicise the achievements of the Oborevwori administration.
“Our inspiration is good governance, and the man behind that inspiration in Delta State is Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. There is a need to enlighten the masses on what the government is doing to deliver the dividends of democracy,” he stated.
He said the group had sustained its advocacy, public enlightenment and grassroots mobilisation activities over the past three years, adding that it would intensify its efforts ahead of the 2027 elections.
The briefing began with a minute’s silence in honour of the late former Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, whom Idawene described as a true leader who contributed immensely to the state’s development.
