The National Leader of the Peace Awareness Movement, Alhaji Awo Destiny Harmony, has taken a swipe at social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VDM, over what he described as a desperate attempt to gain attention by revisiting already debunked kidnapping allegations involving factional NANS President, Comrade Atiku Abubakar Isah.

In a statement issued in Abuja, Alhaji Awo expressed shock that VDM was still promoting a narrative that had long been discredited, even after Comrade Isah publicly admitted fabricating the entire incident and issued an unreserved apology.

“Comrade Atiku Abubakar Isah has openly confessed that he was never kidnapped or assaulted by anyone linked to Seyi Tinubu. He admitted to inventing the entire story, including the baseless claim of a ₦100 million bribe. So what exactly is VDM trying to prove by dragging this lie back into public discourse?” Awo queried.

He condemned VDM’s actions as opportunistic and attention-seeking. “VDM is simply using social media to chase clout. His brand of activism is hollow and unproductive. If social media disappeared today, so would his relevance. Our youths must rise above such distractions and focus on meaningful engagement,” he said.

Awo also challenged VDM to direct his inquiries to Comrade Isah rather than dragging innocent individuals into a matter that has clearly collapsed under the weight of its own falsehood.

“It’s now widely known that Comrade Isah is not even the authentic President of NANS. He is, in fact, an impostor—barely a 100-level student and constitutionally unqualified to contest. Why hasn’t VDM raised questions about that?” he asked.

The peace advocate further emphasized that Seyi Tinubu had no hand in coercing or influencing Isah’s apology. “The retraction was entirely voluntary. If anything, Comrade Isah should be held accountable and prosecuted for spreading falsehoods, misleading the public, and attempting to damage the reputation of Seyi Tinubu and the Honourable Minister of Youth.”

Alhaji Awo concluded with a stern message for VDM:
“Seyi Tinubu is far above your petty gimmicks. You won’t get the reaction you’re fishing for. It’s time to stop chasing shadows and start seeking substance.”
