Following the APC senatorial primary election held on 18th May 2026 across the federation, Delta North has been on the spotlight as two major aspirants, Senator Prince Ned Nwoko and Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa continue to lock horns after the result haa been announced in favour of Senator Okowa.
Senator Nwoko claims that the election was held across 98 wards of Delta North senatorial district and he has video evidence that he won the election and has presented it to the party.
Political ally to the Senator and a public analyst/commentator, Dr Chris Okoba, confirmed that a formal petition has been submitted to APC leadership at national level to review the evidence and traverse it with the acclaimed results.
According to Okoba, video evidence abounds to justify the Irregularities that marred the conduct of the election, ranging from government officials disguising as INEC officials to election not holding in wards where teaming supporters of Ned Nwoko were on ground cheering to vote.
He cited the case of Obiaruku in Ukwuani LGA where many supporters of Senator Nwoko were waiting to cast their votes, but the electoral officials immediately entered a State Government designated vehicle and left, thereby disenfranchising the people. “Unfortunately for the electoral officials, we had video evidence of what transpired”: Dr Okoba claimed.
Speaking to TVC correspondent, Dr Okoba decried the desperation of the opponent, colluding with the state government to erode the credibility of the primaries. “The election was a monumental fraud, egregiously opprobrious”: Okoba Insists.
He however expressed optimism and confidence in the leadership of APC before which the petition and exhibits lie as his camp looks forward to an overturn after the review.
