The Senator representing Delta North senatorial district at the National Assembly and an aspirant in the just concluded APC senatorial primaries, Senator Prince Ned Nwoko made his first public outing after the primaries.

Nwoko granted interview to Arise Tv correspondent where he alleged that the conduct of the primaries was marred by irregularities and sharp practices.

The senator noted that the primaries took place across 98 wards, affirming that he has ward-by-ward results and video evidence showing that he won the election.

He however confirmed that as a law-abiding aspirant, he was constrained to announce and upload the results in the media after receiving information that no results would be announced at the ward level. “We were told the results would be announced at the national level. We assumed the party would follow due process. Instead, we were suddenly presented with a result from a single ward, next and closely connected to the ward of the former governor, and that result was used as the metric for declaring the winner”: Senator Nwoko alleged.

According to him, the evidence has been formally submitted to the leadership of the party for verification and necessary action..

Senator Nwoko said he remained the rightful and clear winner of the APC Delta North Senatorial primaries, with the evidence -based results across majority of the 98 wards in the district.

The APC National Assembly primaries held Monday 18th May 2026 had been rocked nationwide with widespread allegations of irregularities and manipulations at the state level, with the national leadership of the party vowing to ensure fairness and due process.

The APC had stated that the final results would be announced by the National working committee (NWC) after reviewing the entire exercise.
