In a remarkable demonstration of community service and compassion, the OMIWA Foundation USA, led by its committed medical team, brought hope and healing to Obior community in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State through a two-day free medical outreach held on May 31st and June 1st, 2025.

The outreach, which took place at the Obior Civic Centre, provided over 400 patients with free consultations, medications, eye screenings with lenses, laboratory tests (including malaria, sugar, and tuberculosis), dental care, and physiotherapy. Residents from neighboring villages also flocked to benefit from the Foundation’s generosity.

Before the outreach officially began, Dr (Amb.) Emordi Christopher, an illustrious son of Obior, led the medical team to the palace of His Royal Majesty, Agbogidi Obi Kingsley Ugochukwu Ofuokwu III, to receive his royal blessings. The monarch expressed his deep appreciation to the OMIWA Foundation for their commitment to the health and well-being of his people, and he lauded Dr Christopher for facilitating such a vital initiative.

During the event, Dr Onochie Ochonogor, the lead doctor of the medical team, delivered an enlightening health talk, highlighting the importance of regular blood pressure and sugar checks. He warned against the risks of self-medication and encouraged residents to make use of the local primary health center for routine care.

The outreach was widely celebrated in the community, sparking enthusiasm and gratitude. Mr Tohan Okenyi, the Foundation’s country coordinator, proudly revealed that this was the 42nd free medical outreach organized by the OMIWA Foundation—and many more are planned.

“We are truly moved by the warm welcome from the Obior community,” Okenyi remarked, expressing gratitude to the medical volunteers who consistently dedicate their time to serve. He also commended Amb Dr Christopher Emordi for his outstanding publicity efforts and vital support that ensured the success of the outreach.

With a dedicated team of 22 medical personnel on the ground, the outreach reaffirmed the OMIWA Foundation’s unwavering commitment to bringing accessible and quality healthcare to underserved communities across Nigeria—one community at a time.
