APC Ward 9 Records Major Boost as Defectors Join in Grand Rally at Ukwu-Nzu

In a strong show of political momentum, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 9, Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State, welcomed a wave of new members in a vibrant meeting held on May 3, 2025, at the historic Ukwu-Nzu community.

The well-attended event marked a significant shift in the local political landscape, as several former members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) officially defected to the APC, signaling growing grassroots support for the party.

Presiding over the gathering, Ward Chairman and Iyase of Ukwu-Nzu, Chief Uju Ikade, called for unity and dedication among both old and new members. “Progress is only possible when we move with one heart and one purpose. Let us stand together to build a stronger APC in Aniocha North,” he said.

Vice Chairman of the party in Aniocha North and prominent Ward 9 leader, Mrs. Mary Eboigbe, welcomed the defectors warmly, praising their decision to join a party she described as the beacon of progressive governance. She urged them to be active participants in the party’s activities and contribute meaningfully to its growth.

Adding his voice, Hon. Kaikene Okolie hailed the defections as a testament to the APC’s rising influence. “This influx of new members is a sign that the people are embracing change. Our task now is to remain focused and work together to deliver good governance,” he said.

The event drew an impressive crowd of party stakeholders and community leaders, underscoring the significance of the occasion. Among the dignitaries in attendance were Chief Azubuke Iwendi, Chief (Engr.) Kelvin Okolie (Onwa of Ukwu-Nzu Kingdom), Mr. Peter Ozowa, Mr. Teddy Ashiedu, Mr. Tony Okenyi (Finance Secretary, Aniocha North), Mrs. Ngozi Osim (Ward 9 Woman Leader), and Hon. Tohan Okenyi.

The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and determination, as members pledged unwavering loyalty and readiness to ensure APC’s dominance in future political contests across Aniocha North.
