Okowa Declares 2027 Delta North Senate Ambition During Consultation Visit to Ndokwa East
Aboh, Delta State — Former Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, on Wednesday formally declared his intention to contest the Delta North Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections during a high-level consultation visit to Ndokwa East Local Government Area.
The meeting, which held in Aboh, brought together key political stakeholders, including Nnamdi Ezechi and prominent leaders of Ndokwa East, who warmly received the former governor.

Addressing the gathering, Senator Okowa expressed appreciation for the reception accorded him by the people of Ndokwa East, describing it as a demonstration of enduring unity and political maturity.
> “I am here to officially inform the good people of Ndokwa East of my intention to contest for the Delta North Senatorial seat in 2027,” Okowa stated.
He emphasized that his ambition is driven by a desire to deepen development across Delta North, assuring that, if elected, he would foster strong collaboration across all tiers of government. According to him, effective synergy between the Senate, House of Representatives, State Government, and Local Government structures would accelerate the delivery of democratic dividends to the people.
Speaking at the event, the Ndokwa East APC Chairman, Chief Kris Oputa, commended Okowa for heeding what he described as the “collective call” of the people of Delta North. He noted that Okowa’s track record in office remains a source of pride for the region.

Similarly, the Executive Chairman of Ndokwa East Local Government, Hon. Vincent Osilonya, moved a motion endorsing key political figures ahead of the 2027 elections, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and Senator Okowa.
The motion received unanimous support and was seconded by Rt. Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi, further signaling a strong show of political alignment and early mobilization within the region.
The consultation visit marks a significant step in the build-up to the 2027 elections, as political realignments and endorsements begin to take shape across Delta North.
