Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Frontline gubernatorial aspirant for Delta State in 2023, Olorogun David Edevbie, has noted that there’s no comparison between him and other aspirants jostling for the governorship position in the State, because he was privileged to be appointed into government as a youth.

Edevbie stated this in Asaba last week at a consultation visit to Anioma Congress held at the Palace of the Asagba of Asaba, which had the Asagba, Prof. Chike Edozie, traditional rulers in Delta North and top business men stakeholders in attendance.

He disclosed that the privileged of being appointed as a youth gave him an edge over other aspirants because the appointment gave him the privileged to learn from his then older colleagues which includes Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Deputy President of the Senate Ovie OmoAgege, immediate past Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, Ighoyota Amori, Sen. James Manager amongst others.

He said when elected, he would give proper attention to Youths because they have not been allowed to express themselves which means something was wrong.

The widely tipped to win the PDP guber primaries noted that youths came out to participate during ENDSARS protest because they weren’t seeing the future for them.

“We need to give them hope. I was privileged to learn from my elder colleagues as youthful commissioner of finance so they too need to come into government to the act of governance”. He added.

On the challenges of delaying pensioners benefits, Edevbie, who admitted that a lot of people retired without being paid pension, promised prompt payment of pension as at when due when elected.

The immediate past Chief of Staff to Delta State Government who asked for prayers for good health, long life, wisdom and resources from the Traditional Rulers and elders of Anioma Congress noted that without cooperating with the traditional rulers, achieving meaningful results in governance will be difficult.
